2018 January 20th - 21st Men’s Bonspiel
Our event was another hit this year with 24 teams (17 local club and 7 teams from out of town) participating. A great time was had by all participating in the event which featured a great meal Saturday night in the SPCC Curling Lounge. The Belvedere Golf & Country Club put on the meal in our fabulous SPCC curling lounge which was awesome and well received by everyone.
Without the help of our very generous event sponsors, the SPCC facilities, Ice crews, Lounge and Office staff and event coordinators all assisting in many ways to make it all come together it would not be the success that it was.
A lot of good comments received and a few texts were sent to the bonspiel organizers, Guy Algot, Vern Schmidt and Ron Michaud.
“Hi guys, Thanks for everything this weekend, I know it was a lot of work. You guys did a great job.”
And the event does not come together without lots of effort and help for all the SPCC staff assisting with 50/50 ticket sales and great prizes from our numerous sponsors. Thanks Cara and Vern Schmidt!

JANUARY 21 & 22, 2017 A note from the event organizers…. The 21 team SPCC Men’s Spiel was another amazing success in part by the great support of the numerous and very generous event sponsors, the SPCC facilities, ice crew, lounge and office staff and event coordinators. All assisted in many ways to make it all come together without any issues.
The SPCC 2017 Men’s Spiel had an awesome diversity in participating teams in age and skill levels that all mingled in a very completive field. The event included pool draws Saturday, a horse race to the button game Saturday, a few local current & retired “Pros” players, three junior teams and some out of town teams.
A great time by everyone who came out to participate or came out as fans to watch their favorite teams. Congratulations to all our winners!

Maybe the best story of this weekend starts with Team Roszell. For Christmas, his boys gave him the gift of "curling with my boys in a bonspiel". And that they did! Organizers started out by calling the team "notawin" to "twowins" as they made it to playoffs in the "C" division. HEY! Who is that dude in the middle?
