FAQs

Q: Who must be vaccinated to visit the SPCC?

A: All members and visitors who wish to participate in on-ice league and practice activities must provide proof of vaccination (or a negative COVID-19 test result) to an SPCC delegate. Members who are under 12 or who have received an exemption from the board do not require proof of vaccination. Proof of vaccination is not required to visit the SPCC Lounge or to drop off junior curlers for their programs.

Q: Is my vaccination status confidential?

A: All collected information will be kept confidential, protected and will be destroyed at the end of the season, no later than April 15,2022. Information regarding your vaccination status is collected for the purpose of verifying your eligibility to be granted access to on-ice activities at the SPCC. It will not be used or disclosed for other purposes.

Q: How do I get a COVID-19 test to be able to curl if I am unvaccinated/non-disclosing?

A: Tests must be purchased, at the member’s cost, from a pharmacy or laboratory offering asymptomatic testing services. Shoppers Drug Mart, DynaLife and other businesses offer these services.

Q: I tested positive for COVID-19 in the past and recovered. Do I still need to be vaccinated?

A: Yes, you would require proof of vaccination to curl at the SPCC.

Q: What does “fully vaccinated” mean?

A: Fully vaccinated is defined as being at least 2 weeks past receiving your final dose of vaccine. For most members, these means receiving 2 doses of a Health Canada approved vaccine. As no boosters are required for the majority of Alberta residents, boosters are not required to curl at SPCC.

Q: What does “partially vaccinated” mean ?

A: Partially vaccinated is defined as being less than 2 weeks past receiving your final dose of vaccine. This includes all those who have only received 1 dose of a 2 dose vaccine.
